Burnley v Rawtenstall

Saturday saw us take on Burnley at Turf Moor.Never has a game
depended on the flip of a coin, with the wicket going to be a "sticky dog"
second dig it was vital we won the toss, we didn't.Any chance we had was
blown away with the innings of Jeeva Kulatunga whos 64 was achieved in
only 52 balls, this was complimented by Mick Kellys patient 61 and Steve
Brunts 50 late on off 50 balls.Despite Paynies 6 for 60,the home sides 209 all out
was far too many on a deteriorating wicket ,and so it proved.
We could only amass 131 all out Bomber Riley batted well for his 35,but too many
surges to win the duck race(Englefield,Shafiq,Hanson and Roscoe all adding to their flush)
So just the two points, a quick mention to Young Tripathi who bowled very well and was
good value for his 5 for 53.Burnley running out comfortable winners.Accy got passed Rishton
and opened up a formidable,19 point lead.Small consolation other results went our way,and
second spot was secured. No compensation really, the only time I'm interested in coming second
is with the ladies,ummmmm baaabbbyy!
See you laytur KES.
