Two years ago Lowerhouse won the league ,they were the obstacle between us and the record, we need not have worried a superb all round performance saw the lads make history.
One person who will remain nameless but who has watched Rawtenstall for years must have been the only person on the ground who thought we were going to lose when we'd reduced Lowerhouse to 80for 5,chasing 222.

Yes it was a great performance against a potentially good side , batting first we scored a creditable 222 ,Payney once again top scoring , but with other valuable knocks we topped two hundred with ease ,for me though the significant innings was that of prince Peter who came in when we were 140 FOR 3 he showed why he's the best number five in league cricket because in years gone by we could have capitulated when we lost the pro and Payney , but no the prince withstood the flack and batted with style and composure.
We rolled the House over for 155 ,the spin twins once again the heroes but also the spirit and passion of the lads in the field played its part.
Sunday was a washout ,perhaps as well because it was Warbys birthday and my minds gone blank.
Monday we lost in the in the Lancashire cup on a bowl out to East Lancs 3-2, the pro and Vinny (despite his short run-up due to jet lag.) being the marksmen..
I was amazed when I entered the ground Patrick came running over shouting

Two elderly gents were passing, by thee were already moaning about there being no play,

Don't know if its true but the planning permission for the new clubhouse as been given a boost apparently they've found the amended drawings somewhere in Austria.
